Xenon headlight bulbs have an air tight tiny quartz capsule filled with xenon gas, mercury and metal halide salts. The Xenon HID light is produced by means of an electric arc between tungsten electrodes housed inside the bulbs. The light from xenon headlights has a distinct bluish tint when compared with tungsten-filament headlamps and is safer because it is closer to natural daylight.
